The team of Antipinsky Refinery, the basic production asset of New Stream Group
, became the winner of the city stage of the festival of Russian national sports program Ready for Work and Defense (abbreviated in Russian as GTO), summed up in March in Tyumen.
More than 80 people representing various enterprises and institutions of the city took part in the event. Nine teams competed for the victory in four sports: power gymnastics, shooting, cross-country skiing, and running.
Antipinsky Refinery team consisting of 12 employees took 3rd place in the competition. Natalia Bagmut and Pavel Karaulov distinguished in the individual event, striking gold in running among women and men, respectively.
The refinery employees who became winners of individual competitions were invited to compete for Tyumen team at the regional stage of the competition. Pavel Karaulov became the best at the regional competition. Natalia Bagmut also showed a high level of skill, taking third place.
In 2017, the GTO festival was held for the first time for participants older than 25 years. The competition was organized by the Department for Sports and Youth Policy of the Administration of Tyumen. In future, the event is going to be held on a regular basis twice a year: in February-March and September-October.
