Antipinsky Refinery, the main production enterprise of New Stream Group
, created a new section of the Volunteer Emergency Response Team (VERT) prepared for gas rescue operations.
The VERT team comprises 38 employees of the refinery. The gas rescue unit consists of a commander, a gas rescue equipment serviceman and 36 rescuers from among the workers of the refinery technological units. The principal task of VERT is search and rescue of victims in emergency, rendering assistance to them in the presence of life-threatening fumes and gases in the air as a result of an accident.
The gas rescue team was trained and qualified in the training and counseling center of rescue units in August. In the nearest future, the VERT section will complete the procedure for assigning the status of rescuers with further certification of the refinery unit in the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation for the right to carry out gas rescue operations.
The Volunteer Emergency Response Team of Antipinsky refinery is actively developing, leveraging modern technologies and technical means. Thus, in March 2017, another search and rescue VERT unit of the refinery, consisting of 48 people, was certified. In course of special tactical training exercises conducted by the refinery in conjunction with the rescue services of Tyumen region in July this year, VERT of Antipinsky Refinery proved its effectiveness by coping with the tasks set in the established time limits.
