The construction of the diesel hydrotreating unit at the Antipinsky Oil Refinery is nearing completion. Its commissioning for commercial operation will enable the refinery to start the production of Euro-5 compliant diesel fuel in the short term, thereby marking a new stage in the refinery’s development.
The unit was designed by the Institute of Petroleum Refining and Petrochemistry of the Republic of Bashkortostan State Unitary Enterprise, Ufa. The processing capacity of the Antipinsky Oil Refinery’s diesel hydrotreating unit will be over 3.6 million tons per annum. To date, the refinery has completed the installation of the hydrotreater’s reaction block furnaces and fractionation unit. Furnace coils and the feedstock tank have been hydrotested. The installation of the unit equipment and reactor internals is in progress. Recycle compressor plants for pumping hydrogen-containing gas are being installed at the gas compressor station. An engineering building which will accommodate the control and transformer rooms is being built. Furthermore, manifold pipe and additive dosing tanks piping works are in progress. The construction of interplant utility piping networks has been completed.
The Antipinsky Oil Refinery’s diesel hydrotreating unit consists of 2 sections. The base design of Section 1 was developed by Haldor Topsoe, design solutions for Section 2 reaction block by Shell. The commissioning of the diesel hydrotreating unit for commercial operation will enable the Antipinsky Oil Refinery to produce Euro-5 compliant summer and winter diesel fuel, hydrotreated unstable gasoline.
