Alexander Yemelyanov Comes in Third in Nation’s Cross-country Race – 2014

21 September 2014

On September 21, a mass participation running competition “Nation’s Cross-country Race – 2014” was held in Tyumen. Over six thousand runners took part in the event.

The race was traditionally held in the square next to the regional government building. Amateur athletes competed in three races. 1-kilometer VIP-race featured prominent people of the Tyumen Region. Boys and girls born in 2005 and younger also competed over a 1-kilometer race length, while the most popular 1500-meter distance was open to all participants.

Professional athletes competed in four race lengths: four, six, eight and twelve thousand meters. Denis Korablev, Head of the Tyumen Region Running Club, was the first one to complete the longest distance. Alexander Ivanov of Specialized Olympic Reserve Sports School for Children and Youth No. 2 came in second, and our employee Alexander Yemelyanov, team leader of Fire Fighting Unit No. 1 to the third step of the podium.

It should be noted that in June this year Alexander won the 4200-meter run in the Green Marathon National Race.

We sincerely congratulate Alexander in this victory and wish him good health and new professional and athletic achievements.
